Advancement to Green belt

performing his kicking combination

Axe kick

One of upper TKD class giving Adam his new belt

showing off the green belt
This past weekend, Adam had another belt test, which means he tests up to the next belt color.  He broke a board with his heel this time, and he was the only one out there in his color belt, which is somewhat intimidating because you have only yourself to rely on.  He was loud and confident and instructor Jason even complimented him.  Finally, his loudness pays off!!!!!  So he advanced from orange belt, to green belt, and now he is allowed to order sparring gear and even order a blue uniform instead of his white one!

DeerSlayer

proud papa and son

4 pt buck!

All the boys sharing in the joy!
Last night was the night Adam has been waiting for!  He and Paul went hunting in the late afternoon and around suppertime Adam got his first deer!!!  I heard the shot around 5:30 but Paul wasn't sure where it was shot.  Of course it was dark and they looked and looked and looked.  Paul came in around 7:30 to eat then went back out again.  He found it around 9pm!!  Perfect shot , straight through the heart.  Adam was super excited and he even kept the shell as his souvenir.  The Petersons came over late that night to tell Adam congratulations and Ben helped Paul skin the deer.  Thanks for coming over----you guys are the best!!!

Tae Kwon Doe International Tournament

Adam & Andrew by huge TKD blowup

Caleb, Adam, Cody with trophies and medals

Look at this smile!!!

All the participants lined up
On October 27, the annual Tae Kwon Doe tournament was held in Louisville.  We went up Friday night and stayed at our friends' house--the Hodges'.  Adam, Caleb, and Cody participated in forms, breaking boards, and Caleb did sparring also.  He was so nervous that he started crying because there were so many kids and it was really loud.  He didn't know what to expect so he was scared.  But I tell you what, when  his nerves got calmed down, and he watched the other kids do the breaking and forms first, then he knew what to do.  He did sooooooo good.  His kicks were high, and he wasn't just so-so with his arm and leg movements, and he was focused when breaking boards!  They compete in groups of 3--so whoever does the best they get Eagle (red), next is dragon (blue), and tiger (purple) is third.  Adam received Eagle in forms and breaking and you could not have wiped the smile off that kids face all day.  We went to a Halloween party that night with the Hodges' and he even wore it over his costume to show people he didn't even know!!  Caleb got Eagle in all 3 events, and Cody got second and third in his events.  This was quite fun and I am sure Adam will probably want to go back next year!!  We are so proud of all 3 of you!!
