Neil Armstrong

Preston as George Washington

Case as the Boy Scout founder

Caleb as Albert Einstein
This past week Sharpe Elementary once again had their wax museum with the 4th and 5th graders.  When you are in 4th grade, the kids have to dress as a famous Kentuckian.  When you are in 5th grade, you dress as a famous American that had an impact on the USA.  Adam went as Neil Armstrong.  He had to memorize at least 5 facts about him, dress as the character, and they have been writing a big paper about him.  It was awesome to see all the kids dressed up and going through their speeches.  Adam, you did a fantastic job!!

Halloween Party!!

We held our annual Halloween party just a little early this year because we will be in Louisville next weekend for the Tae Kwon Doe tournament.  Friday night Adam helped us carve our pumpkins.  He carved a dragon and did a great job!!  He liked to take the gook out of the middle.  My favorite part of the evening is watching our guests arrive to see what everyone is dressed as.  Ben and Miranda never cease to amaze me!  This year they were Adam and Eve, even complete with a serpent tied around her arm and an apple and fig leaves!  Cody was a zombie and Caleb was a mincraft character from one of his video games.  The Baumer family were sports fans with a baseball and football player.  The Thomasons always like to have a good time too.  PJ was Turtle man, complete with his turtle shell and oppossum.(spell???), Tracie was a pirate lady--OK she was a french whore!  the boys were a zombie inmate and the man who started the Boy Scouts (b/c he has to dress as this character on Friday at school).  Cassidy, Mary, and Timmy came later as ghouls.  Paul dressed as Willie Robinson from Duck Dynasty, I was "tanning mom", Andrew was Harry Potter and Adam was the grave reaper and he jumped out and scared people as they drove in.  New this year was fireworks. It was a beautiful night and all 8 boys were outside most of the night yelling, running, and playing.  It was also a beautiful night to sit out and watch fireworks.  We love Halloween and especially celebrating it with friends.  I wish our families lived closer so we could celebrate with them too.  Have a great and safe Halloween everyone!!!

Dunking booth

Before

There she goes....

Wow that was cold!

Why did we agree to do this??
At our college, our nursing student organization held a Fall Bash to help raise money for their club.  So several teachers "volunteered" to get on the dunking booth.  Luckily Miranda and I had the afternoon shift and there were not hardly any students there!!  But one of our surgical technology teachers thought it only appropriate that we needed dunked--so she gladly volunteered to dunk us!  So here we are on the dunking booth!

Mudicine Race

We're finished!! and wet......

all 4 boys sliding

Miranda and I in the pink

oh we're awesome!!
This past Saturday, Miranda, all 4 boys, and me participated in a 1 mile "race".  We had the option of a 5K or the 1 mile........was there ever a question as to which one we would pick?  We had to wait for the 5K to get done but what we had to do was to run around this HUGE track, then the first obstacle was to do a belly crawl under a maze of string, then run some more, through a ditch of water, then up some tires, jog over to the mud pit!!  The fire truck was there hosing down the mud pit---it was about 2 1/2 -3 foot deep of cold water!  So you jumped into this muddy water with the fire truck spraying water on you , walked through this water and then out.  That water took your breath away---but what an amazing time!!  Andrew beat us all cause that boy loves to run.  Needless to say, Adam and Mommy came in near the end.  This was an event to raise money for the new free health clinic going in at Benton, KY.  Then after you got out of the mud pit, there was a huge plastic slide they were hosing down with water and we "rinsed off".  Fun, fun, fun, but now I am sore, sore, sore!!!!

Great Nephew and new cousin

While we were in St. Louis for fall break, Kiersten and Matt had their baby.  It was a baby boy and his name is Jackson Bryce!  Congratulations and I can't wait to see him!!!

We loved City Museum!

View of Rams game
The first week in October, the boys and I all had our fall break.  We headed up to St. Louis and had a great time.  Wednesday evening we went to the very last Cardinals ballgame.  The boys each bought a new hat and luckily all the players came out and signed autographs.  They hardly ever come out but since it was the last game and this game was a nonstress game, they  all came out.  The boys and Paul headed down and some of the players signed their hats---Descalso,  Chris Carpenter, Mott, Kelly and a couple others.  Good game and then we walked back to our hotel.  Thursday we were at City Museum most of the day.  Awesome time going up and down slides, crawling everywhere, and the boys played in the huge ball pit.  That evening Andrew and Paul took in a Rams game since they were in town and Adam and I went to the Galleria Mall.  Friday was rainy and ugly but we headed home anyway to find that Andrew and paul's baseball game was rained out that night anyway.  Wonderful family time and it was good to get away!

September stuff

September has been busy with school happenings with the boys and me.  Friday nights have been baseball for Andrew.  1 or 2 days a week is Tae Kwon Do.  Adam has been practicing b/c we are going to the 26th Annual HMA US Open Championship tourney in Louisville.  Just thought it would be fun for Adam to see lots of other kids and adults doing TKD.  We also got a new dogfeeder for the dogs.  Andrew decided he was going to show the girls how to eat out of it.  Paul took pictures with his camera but Andrew didn't know it!!
You are such a good teacher Andrew

Who's dog feeder is this anyway?

Also, we just had the annual BBQ on the river.  Ahhhhh--yummy!! I worked Thursday evening in the Buzzard Brothers stand b/c the proceeds benefit our church.  Then Saturday we went down with the Petersons and walked around and let the kids do some fun games.  Andrew tried the rock wall and Adam and Cody played inside the huge blow up balls in the water.  We all had a good time and had some awesome BBQ which benefited some wonderful organizations!
