Look who came to visit!!

I got a surprise call last Tuesday from our good friends that moved away from Paducah almost 5 years ago! Our friends Wendy and Bruce, now live in Kansas City, MO but were coming to Paducah on the spur of the moment vacation to visit some friends. A former pastor at church introduced Paul and me to Bruce and Wendy b/c she was a nurse and he was an engineer--what a coincidence! We hit it off immediately and tried to get together when we could with our work schedules. Wendy had just had her second child and Bruce's job needed to transfer him, so they moved when little Lucas was just 2 months old. Since then, they have added a third child! Anyway, Saturday night we tried to catch up on old times and what has been happening in the past 5 years, and it was just like old times --except for 5 kids running around shooting each other with nerf guns and playing the wii in the middle of the living room while we were trying to talk. But like any good parent, we just ignored them and just went on with our conversation! Now it's our turn to repay the visit. Hopefully if we ever go skiing we can stop off on our way or better yet, if the Cards play the Roayls we may have to try and get tickets! We miss you guys like crazy and we are soooo happy you called and came to visit. We love you--keep in touch!

Hockey Game

A couple weekends ago we got the chance to go see a National Hockey League game in Nashville. The cub scout leaders coordinated this and several families were able to go. We have never been to a hockey game and I don't even know any of the rules, but it was great seeing it in person. Both boys really got into it and now, Andrew possibly wants to be a professional hockey player b/c he thinks he can skate really fast. He's been sliding/skating with his socks on in the kitchen making Paul time him to see how fast he is! We each got a free hotdog and drink along with our ticket. On the way out, I took a picture of Ryman Auditorium but it didn't turn out so good. We passed it as we walked in to the game but I thought it was just a church or something. We had a good time--can't wait for more family time this summer.
