Both of the boys had field trips this week.  Andrew went to the science center in Nashville and Adam went to Mammoth Cave.  Both kids had an awesome time and were soooo looking forward to their trips---they both just couldn't sleep the night before!  Here is Andrew playing with some buddies.  Two of the boys' moms sent me these pictures.  Also, here are pictures from Mammoth Cave.  I went along on this trip and I loved it!

Look what I found!
While trimming bushes I came across a nest of 3 baby birds.  They are in one of our holly bushes.  I think I saw a mama mockingbird go in to the nest after I finished trimming the holly bush.  The other is a pic of the girls.  They were sleeping out in the sun and I just decided to take a picture of them.

Now how did the Easter Bunny put our names on there?

thanks Uncle Wayne!
What a gorgeous weekend for Easter.  We had a good time going back to MO to see family again.  The boys always look forward to seeing all their cousins.  This year was special because my brother in law went through confirmation and came into the Catholic faith on Saturday night.  On Saturday, we had the infamous easter egg hunt at mom and dad's. This year, each person was given a piece of paper with their name spelled out and they had to find the egg that was coordinated with their letter.  Exp:  A=green, P=purple, etc. Plus after finding all the eggs, there was quite a haul of chocolate candies inside the house.  On Sunday, we went to Paul's mom and dad's and had a really good meal.  We were able to visit with everyone and see Kiersten's new friend, Matt.  See everyone soon because school is almost over!!!

This past weekend we enjoyed a campout with our cub scout and webelo.  We tent camped at Dixon Springs in Illinois.  We got up there Friday night and set up our tents, the boys helped to make stew, and then we had smores.  Saturday was beautiful and we went for a long hike and while we hiked the boys had a scavenger list that they were to collect.  Had hotdogs over the fire with sticks that they had to whittle themselves, went for another short hike on some rocks, the boys made bird houses, and PJ and Paul taught them about fishing.  We made hamburgers in foil packs over the hot coals for supper then most people headed out Saturday night.  We were all exhausted but I think the boys really had a great time.

Fishing with the Hodges'

another great view from the boat

3 boys enjoying each others' company
Steve usually brings his kids and his dad every spring down to Jerry's trailer for a fishing-fest.  Our boys can't wait to see Brian and play with him.  The boys are really into fishing this year, so they probably got their fill this weekend.  They were on the boat Sunday from 10-6pm!  But of course, we let the boys go on Steve's boat with Brian!!! Ha!  Sam fished with Paul and I.  We caught several crappie and white bass, so it was a successful weekend.  One exciting thing happened though--I laid my pole down and my pole got yanked in the water before I could do anything.  I just kind of yelled and whimpered.  But--by the grace of God, I caught my pole with the other pole I was using and reeled it in!!!  Saved me a butt chewing from Paul!  Here are a few pics from the weekend.
