Six Flags Trident Dance

When we were at Six flags, there was a stand where if you danced with Mr. Six you got free Trident gum. Adam had a green screen behind him, and had to watch the monitor with Mr. Six in front of him. He said "I'm gonna do it Mom!". We clapped and cheered him on, he did soooooo good. When I need to smile, I just watch this just about every night.

Happy Birthday

.

Andrew is now 7! We went back to Missouri last weekend for my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary, so we celebrated Andrew's birthday then with our families. He wanted brownies so we made those at Grandma Mary's house. All their cousins were there which made it even more special. Allie and Taylor even made hand made cards with drawings! he loved those. He got lots of Cardinal stuff (of course, that's who he is going to play baseball with when he grows up!), and a lot of Pokemon characters from Allie! Thanks Allie, he plays with them all the time. Then on Sunday we went to Grandma Shirley's house where she made him a chocolate cake with chocolate icing! Yummo. We ate out in the new addition to their house which is so neat with the pine board walls and all the windows that really brighten everything up. Uncle Wayne and Jacob got him a double barrel shotgun (toy) and Gma and Gpa got them new DSi's (handheld games which they've been wanting). So the boys were super excited! Adam even took the gun out to the tree where the dogs were barking and pretended to shoot a squirrel one night--that was pretty funny. Then this weekend Andrew wanted some friends to come over and play for his birthday party here. So we had 8 boys playing baseball and swimming. Of course the Peterson boys were here, Case and Cameron from school and baseball team, our two boys, and then the Baumer boys from church. We also gave him a new Cardinal backpack for school and a Cardinal Jersey to wear. He said the backpack was perfect b/c it held his agenda and his big reading book that he has been waiting on to get. Adam always brought home the big reading books and he couldn't wait for his turn to bring them home. We love you big guy, you are growing up too fast!

First day at school

Wow, the boys are back in school already! Where has the summer gone? I have absolutely loved every minute of my summer vacation and I am not ready to go back to work either! So, today was their first day back in school. They actually didn't start until about a week later than they usually do so they had more time for summer break. Paul took off of work Mon-Wed, b/c I had to work, and they did all kinds of stuff--Ya-Ya's Island, movies at the theater and at the drive-in, played ball, etc. Paul got Adam's hair cut super short b/c he has bald batches in the back where he pulls his hair. It is a nervous habit and I don't know what is going to get him to stop. But I really do love his short hair cut--he is so handsome! Here is also a picture of Dad with his boys.

Hilton Head Vacation

Oh what a great vacation we had in Hilton Head, SC. One of my co-workers, Mary, asked the boys and me to go along with them because her husband couldn't go, and we thought it would be fun to bring all the kids. So, we did! We divided the drive into 2 days going down, and stayed in a hotel, then got there Saturday. After mass on Sunday, we hit the beach where it was really, really windy. We put up a tent/umbrella thing on the beach for some relief from the heat, but unfortunately the wind had other plans. While swimming, the wind took the tent and twisted it all up so we had to throw it away. We had wonderful shrimp and scallops for supper! Yummo. Monday, the kids boogey-boarded and played in the sand for a couple of hours. We didn't even go down to the beach until around 4:30 because of the heat and stayed until it was getting dark! Wednesday evening we all went on a dolphin cruise down by the marshes and saw several dolphins swimming next to the boat. That was a fun evening. On Friday, the kids made shark tooth necklaces for their souvenirs. One morning we took a long walk in the morning, and saw lots of jellyfish washed up on the beach. They varied in size from a quarter size to a big whopping softball size. We came back with lots of oyster shells and other shells from the beach. The kids loved the beach but they also just loved going to the pool and swimming where they didn't have to worry about jellyfish or crabs, or stingrays. Some women saw stingrays the last day we were there and something got Andrew on the leg. He cried out that something bit him and it was stinging, and it left 3 dots on his leg. I guess it was a jellyfish and we sprayed vinegar water on it, but still not for sure what it was. I didn't sleep good that night b/c I was just worried about him, but it didn't bother him long, b/c he got back in later on and boogey boarded more. Outside the condos was a big pond where the kids went fishing. Adam and Claire, Mary's daughter, gave it their best shot, but it was just too hot to go fishing! We also played corn-hole, and tennis one morning. I just want to thank Mary for asking us to go because we had a really good time.
