Science Fair

Science Fair Medal

Science Fair Board
This year, the 4th grade class has a mandatory science fair at school.  Adam's question was "How does gravity affect our height?"  We had to measure each family member 3 times in the morning and every evening for 4-5 days and we took the average.  His hypothesis was that we would shrink throughout the day, but we didn't know that we actually shrank about 1/2 inch!!!  We noticed that the days I was on my feet the most was the days I shrank the most, and the days the kids were more active, they did too.  Adam typed in his data and Paul helped him with the charts/graphs.  I got a piece of spine from work so he could show the soft discs between the vertebrae.  On the day of judging, about 20 kids out of 60 got superior---one of them was Adam!  We were so proud of him.  He received a medal too.  That night we celebrated and he got to pick where we went to eat, so we went to Patti's!!  Now all the elementary schools in Marshall cty have to have their science fairs, and all the kids with superior now go on to county competition in April.
