Saturday morning we slept in a little b/c of our late night Halloween party, then we headed back to MO for our niece Kiersten's wedding. She was married in the back yard of Eric's family. It was a nice beautiful day, and they had a nice simple wedding ceremony. Unfortunately we couldn't stay long b/c we had trunk or treating to do. We met Miranda and the kids and we went to Broadway Church of Christ's trunk or treat. For those of you not familiar with trunk or treating, it's a safe way of trick or treating for Halloween without going through town knocking on door's. Everyone opens up the trunk or hatch of an SUV and decorate it, and they also dress up and hand out candy. They had many vehicles participating, then they also had games. After this, we headed back to Reidland to the baptist church where they had a fall carnival. We bought tickets and each game was a ticket, and after a simple task of bouncing the ball in a bucket, or throwing a football through a tire, or putting a golf ball into a hole, the kids would get some candy or chips or whatever. It is great. There were about twenty games and when that was over we headed home. On Sunday, our church had their trunk or treat, so here we are dressed up again. We handed out candy then Miranda and I took the kids over to Jefferson street to trick or treat. The city actually blocks off this road b/c there are sooooo many kids/parents. We rounded the corner and I think my mouth fell open--there were probably 5000 kids and parents as far as you can see. Many of the people on this street really get into the Halloween spirit. One house had a "haunted house" out front, one family dressed up their yard and themselves as the Peter Pan characters---really extravagant and awesome. Needless to say, the kids were TIRED and we got home late again Sunday night. The kids had school Monday but we were so glad they didn't have school Tuesday for election day so they could sleep in and rest! I know we were all exhausted!
