Flooding

this past Sunday, we took a drive in the rain to check out Kentucky Dam and see how high the river was. I have never seen ALL of the flood gates open before. Kentucky Dam is holding more water now than it has ever held before to protect the cities and counties downstream, but they had to release a lot b/c it was getting too full! Lots of the counties are flooded down here and roads are closed everywhere. Metropolis, IL is flooded worse than it has ever been, Livingston County inKY has roads closed and you will be ticketed if you are even sightseeing. People have been evacuated and they have the National Guard in to protect from looting. All baseball games have been cancelled this week and potentially next week. In the pictures, you will see that all the flood gates are open, and the foam was soooo thick on the river from the force of the water, that the egret birds were laying on top of the foam. It's hard to tell just how high the water is, but I took several pictures just for reference for later to compare when the water goes down.
