First day of school and Andrew's Birthday

Our boys have headed back to school. Adam started Aug 6 and Andrew started Aug 7 in Kindergarten!! He is soooo ready for kindergarten but of course a mommy's heart gets heavy when her baby starts school. But he was so cute the first day--he stood at the bottom of the stairs, backpack on, shoes on, and said "hello?? Are you ready yet? There's a kindergartener down here!" He was so serious, just pacing back and forth waiting for me to finish fixing my hair and for me to get a move on. Adam is such a big boy too--I really think he was ready too b/c he wants to go play with his friends. And now that his best bud Caleb is going to Sharpe Elementary, well, he's happy to be at school and play at recess. He wouldn't even let me walk him in the first day of school--"no mom, just drop me off in car rider line". I pleaded but to no avail.
Andrew turned 6 in August right after school started, so he is one of the oldest kids in his class. We bought him a new baseball bat which has been getting quite a workout lately. Andrew loves anything to do with baseball. Look at his shirt he wore on the first day of school--every t-shirt has to have a baseball or something with the Cardinals on it. He also got lots of other great things for his birthday--new bases to put in our yard, a new Cardinal jersey, Magic Treehouse books, a new alarm clock (they think they are big boys now b/c they wake up to an obnoxious beeping alarm),lots of other things so I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Grandma Shirley and his Aunt Kim and cousins took he and Adam bowling for his birthday too. I am pretty sure he had a good birthday!
