The moment has arrived. After many, many weeks of back breaking work, sweat and tears (Paul and Ben's), the deer stand/clubhouse is finally finished! Walls are up, roof on, windows and door on, and caulking all the cracks just about finished, just in time for hunting. Paul got windows from his Dad's trailer, and my parents just got a new door on their house, so Paul took the old one and put it on the deerstand--now it really feels like "home" for me! The guys really did a fantastic job building this huge thing. They had to make it very sturdy b/c there are going to be kids going up and down those stairs and using that. Hopefully it was prove to be useful this fall--deer season is just in a couple of weeks. Here the deer stand, and while Andrew and I were walking back to the house, there was this big beautiful owl just sitting in the tree watching us walk by. I can't believe he didn't try to fly away.
Whew! I am so glad they finished that thing too. What an awesome picture of the owl!
